The website represents the studio and me accurately—its aesthetics, professionalism, and love for the craft are reflected in everything I create for my clients. My dedication to the work and the high standards I set for the team I work with accompany us on every project, all within a friendly and close atmosphere.
I grew up in the Tel Aviv of earlier days, with a deep sense of optimism and joy. As far back as I can remember, my life has always been intertwined with photography, with images—memories on paper and in albums. As a child, I worked with my father in a black-and-white lab we had at home, in a small, crowded room filled with chemical fumes.
In my early years, I worked as a still photographer on film sets in Israel, Europe, and the United States. Working on a film set is very unique—you are part of a large team, and the shooting conditions are predetermined and intense.
Later on, I opened a photography studio and for many years photographed stills for advertising, events, and private projects of all kinds. As a photographer of high-end events, I wanted to present the photographs in albums that would honor my work, and that is how I began studying bookbinding and creating unique photo albums. I devoted several years to producing high-quality photo albums, and since then I have been publishing books—whether hand-bound or printed at professional presses.
The team I work with includes biographers and graphic designers. The biographers know how to interview and listen—how to rewrite the story, divide it into chapters, and turn a life story they listen to so attentively into a literary work.
The wonderful designers I work with—each one highly professional and exceptional: Lihi Bar-Haim, Tamar Bar-Dayan, Yermi Arieli, and Michal Ackerman—connect to the story I bring from my clients and work with me hand in hand on every book. Each book begins as an idea in my mind and passes through their skilled hands. Book design is a long process, like a game of ping-pong between the client and me, until we arrive at a graphic solution for every thought and idea in the story.
Andrey—the meticulous, precise bookbinder—immigrated from Ukraine after closing his bindery there. He is a bookbinder and restorer who knows well the materials we work with: leather, cardboard, paper, glue, and all types of brushes.
I would be happy to meet you personally and provide you with the very best product.
